Biography and Publications
Ulrich Gehmann, dipl.rer.nat./lic.oec.HSG./M.A. in history. - The author studied Biology and Anthropology at the universities of Zürich, Tübingen, Freiburg, and Business Administration at the University of St. Gallen (HSG). Humanist education (Greek/Latin). Army service. After having worked in the chemical industry, also in managerial positions, he joined an international consulting firm (former Coopers & Lybrand): reorganization projects in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union, including Central Asia. As well as Pakistan, Levante and the Sahel belt. Issues covered were enterprise restructuring, institutional development & cooperation, and policy development for ministries. Managerial positions, also two years in Romania as CEO for Coopers & Lybrand's Management Consulting Division. University of Wuppertal for business administration and organizational dynamics; lectures in business administration, and seminars on dynamics and behaviour of organizations. Managing partner of Particip Consultancy Group, dealing with EU-projects and reforestation. Now at University of Karlsruhe, Institute for Studies of History. Co-founder of the journal New Frontiers in Spatial Concepts. Head of a firm dealing with developmental dynamics and their representation. Publications and research on occidental mythology and its impact on recent sociocultural reality.
